Last night was one of the most romantic nights of my life! I just have to share it with all you couples looking for some good ideas to spice up your love time.
Me and my husband made a deal what once a week we would go out for dinner and an occasional movie, just to ensure we still keep out “dating” lives alive. We have been doing this once a week for the past 10 years, without missing a beat! But last night was a little bit different.
“Where are we going for dinner tonight, honey?” I asked my husband as I put the finishing touches on my outfit. “Well, I was thinking somewhere local. I am kind of tired tonight.” I didn’t think much of this, and simply shook my head OK.
On our way out, he opened my car door as always, and help me into the car. I smiled and sat down comfortably. I noticed a peculiar, small box sitting in the cup holder of my husbands car. I questioned it in my mind, but decided to respect my husbands privacy and disregarded it. Along the way to the restaurant, my husband turn to me and said, “I saw you eying up that box. Aren’t you going to ask what is in it?” I chuckled and said, “Honey, what’s in that box?”
“I don’t know, why don’t you open it and find out…” Was the reply. So I smiled and picked up the box. Excited that it was a jewelry style box, I opened it. To my surprise, it was not jewelry, but rather a small piece of paper. I must admit, I was slightly disappointed about not getting a new piece of glitter, and I think my husband could tell. I looked at the paper, which read, “Look in the back seat”. Baffled, I turned around and saw another box. This box was bigger and rectangular shaped. Grinning with surprise, I picked up the box. My husband gave me the OK to open it with his proud eyes, and I did. Inside was the most beautiful pair or black satin high heel’s I’ve ever seen!
“Shoes?” I asked, not paying attention to where we were. Then the car shut off and I looked at the building in front of me. Rather than taking me out to dinner, we had arrive to some kind of classy bar. I asked what it was, and he told me tonight is dancing night.
We used to go dancing, but haven’t in years. My husband really doesn’t like dancing and he knows I do, so for him to take me dancing was oh so special to me! Needles to say, the shoes fit perfectly and I had the time of my life! As for the jewelry box, my husband knew I’d be a little disappointed, so in the middle of the dance floor, he pulled a gorgeous golden bracelet out of his pocket and put it on my wrist. How sweet! It was the most romantic evening I’d had in a long time! And the dance bar even had yummy food, so we ate, drank and danced until our feet were numb! Oh and let me just say, he sure got his “thank-you” later on that evening once we got back home!
I hope this has inspired someone out there to treat their partner to a romantic evening! It doesn’t even have to be big and elaborate. Simple going out somewhere special was good enough for me! The bracelet was just a little extra treat!
